A SWEET AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE
As I walked outside my house I noticed a beautiful Rose that had bloomed in our garden and right there and then I knew what cake I wanted to make for Rosh Hashana (the Jewish New Year)
Well, of course, for the sake of tradition it had to be a sweet honey cake, but this magnificent Rose cake evokes that fresh beginning filled with beauty and vibrancy which we hope for every year. A New Year , which just like this Rose, embraces the sun after the winter as life blossoms anew, full of the promise of renewal and transformation. The rose with its many petals unfolds in all its beauty and complexity, and represents the cycle of the seasons which reminds us that everything has a cycle and nothing is permanent; all things be they good or bad, come and go. The petals wilt and fall between the thorns, but each year new buds are guaranteed to burst forth.
For the new year, I wish you an abundance of good health, a heart filled with love and a life filled with joy. I wish you a sweet new year.

The recipe for this cake will be published in the book that my partner and I are putting together and will have ready by the end of November.
